Who Sang It Better?

Yes, I’m a total loser for watching/liking/remembering every episode of “Rockstar Supernova”. Now that we got that admission out of the way, hows about the time when contestant Dilana did a slow, sultry, sitar-y version of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”? I dont expect you to remember that, so here’s a refresher:

Last night Adam Lambert did the SAME bizarre rendition of the song. Pretty much exactly except that he channeled ”The Final Countdown” by Europe meets “Im a Slave 4 U” by Britney.  I’m not saying it wasnt good. I actually clapped. All I’m saying is that its just strange that two contestants on performance competitions sing a famous country/rockabilly song with a Middle Eastern/Indian vibe.

Note: I still think Adam Lambert is the best performer on the show because he is entertaining, interesting, flashy and looks like a young gay Elvis. YAY him!

Adam rules. I can’t believe the stupid cretin judges (except randy) didn’t get the genius of that arrangement and performance. I was like holy shit, dude, this guys is 47 million centuries ahead of the other contestants.

Wow, where to begin with this post.

    1) I am totally calling him Gay Elvis too. Did I get that from you or do great minds think alike?

    2) I knew you would love this guy. I, on the other hand, hate him. I totally get that he’s talented but I just can’t deal with that emo shit.

    3) I loved Dilana on Rockstar and now I’m wondering where she may be these days.

    4) This is the problem I had with David Cook last year. I get that you want to mix things up and do different versions of songs. Especially on country week. Jesus that was a long 2 hours. However, my problem is when they try to pass it off like they came up with it on their own and they are so ‘original’. Just own up and it will all go over so much better. Clearly you went on the internet and found another version. Good for you. Just tell the whole story.

    I’m done now.

You are so right on Stephanie! I love him and kinda hate him and then I hate myself for loving him and then hating him.
Either way, I prefer him over any of the other boring dipshits.
I have the sneaking suspicion that there are some special musical “arrangers” that are in cahoots with these shows. Maybe the cat that helped Dilana is working for Adam Lambert now…
With that said, I’m pretty sure Dilana is working at an S&M Boutique on Hollywood Blvd. these days, but I could be wrong.

dena, you’re better than this. the guy wears more make up than ru paul.

  5. Lawrence Says:

Jeez, Dena. You watch the douchiest shows.
